Meghan Markle has revealed that her children have had the same nanny for the past five years, despite previously describing life as a “working mum” as “incredibly overwhelming.”
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, opened up on The Jamie Kern Lima Show this week, detailing her early morning routine and how her longtime nanny helps care for Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
Her confession follows a recent remark where Meghan admitted “I just need a break,” noting how difficult it is to juggle motherhood and her business ventures.
During the episode released Monday, Meghan described how mornings typically start at 6:30AM, with her prepping breakfast, dressing the kids, and handling lunchboxes, before either dropping them to school herself or handing off to the family’s “amazing nanny.”
“If I don't have meetings in the morning, then I try to do school drop-off,” Meghan explained.
“They're at two different schools, so that's a big circuit… But on other days, our amazing nanny who's been with us for five years will take them to school.”
The duchess also revealed that her kids’ packed lunches come with handwritten notes, a tradition she says she loves: “I love doing lunchboxes… it makes me very happy.”
But it was her nanny revelation that drew attention, especially after past comments suggesting Meghan felt overwhelmed by her dual role as a mother and public figure.
Some critics online questioned the contradiction between having full-time childcare and calling motherhood “exhausting.”
