Chappell Roan falls in the large majority of people who did not make it big on famous talent show auditions, and has disclosed what really went down at the auditions.

The Good Luck, Babe! singer gained prominence after she opened for Olivia Rodrigo at her GUTS tour, and was shot to stardom by her viral Coachella performance in April of last year.

The Grammy Award winner has been making music for almost a decade now, and recently took a trip down memory lane to one of her first auditions as a teenager.

The Hot to Go! crooner told W Magazine about her experience at America's Got Talent, "I was 13, and we flew to Austin, Texas, and waited in line with thousands of people at 4 a.m. I sang True Colors by Cyndi Lauper.”

“Did not make it either,” Chappell continued, referring to the story she told before this one, where she noted her disappointing screening at The Voice.

“When I auditioned for The Voice, I was 15 and I sang Stay by Rihanna,” Chappell began, before expressing her frustration with the casting director.

“By the way, when I did the Voice audition, the producer or whoever the f**k was watching did not even look up from his phone.”

She then told that she had sung the a cappella version of the hit, which was “the scariest thing ever.”

Notably, Chappell, 27, is currently on a European tour where she is going to make appearances at various festivals.

Which other celebrities were rejected on The Voice?

Chappell Roan is not alone, as the show’s team has previously turned down Luke Combs, Maren Morris and James Arthur.
