Charli XCX and punk rock band, Green Day, sparked feud speculation after the Rewind singer’s appearance at a Coachella after-party.

Charli, who had performed at the festival after the trio headlined during the first weekend of Coachella, did not seem too happy with the setup.

The Guess singer’s sash read “Miss Should Be Headliner” in pictures from the after party that soon went viral.

Green Day fans did not respond well to this accessory, and took to social media platforms to slam the 32-year-old singer, with one writing, “To the main public she's not bigger than Green Day.”

However, the five-time Grammy-winning band reminded fans to keep things upbeat, as they sported a sash of their own while taking the stage for the second time at Coachella 2025.

The legendary band’s drummer, Tré Cool, wore his makeshift strap with the words “Actual Headliner” written across it.

He was joined by 53-year-old Billie Joe Armstrong, who made his own reference to the Apple singer by wearing her merch - a neon green hat marked with her album title, “Brat.”

The American Idiot hitmakers’ move did not go unnoticed by Charli, who took to her social media to sum up her feelings in just one word, “obsessed,” alongside the picture of the band.

What are Green Day fans called?

Green Day fans have nicknamed themselves the “Idiot Nation” after formerly being known as the “Idiot Club.” The fans typically partake in competitions, discuss tour dates and other band-related announcements.
