Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and DJ Akademiks' interview has finally happened and expectedly, it was controversial, to say the least.
The interview lasted just over an hour and was posted on journalist Chris Venegas’ YouTube channel on Sunday.
Ye gave a warm welcome to Akademiks on the doorstep followed by the podcaster surveying Ye's crib while the rapper was getting ready.
Ye then appeared in an all-black Ku Klux Klan-inspired robe with a Swastika chain.
An unfazed Akademiks attached a mic to the 47-year-old’s offensive outfit and it took a while for Ye to rearrange the furniture as he found the room’s layout unsatisfactory for the interview.
A curious Akademiks asked Ye whether he wore the outfit in public, to which Ye replied that he wanted to wear it “yesterday” but decided against it because “they would like put me in a hospital for my outfit.”
As the interview finally got going, Ye seemed uncomfortable under the hood as he was panting while conversing.
During the interview, the Donda artist talked about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, their children, his remarks about Jay-Z as well as some of his conspiracy theories.
