Paul Rodriguez seems to be having a bad weekend.
The legendary comedian was arrested on Friday for alleged drug possession.
Law enforcement sources revealed to TMZ that the arrest occurred in Burbank, California after an officer pulled Rodriguez over for a traffic violation.
Sources further told TMZ that the cop allegedly found illegal substances after searching Rodriguez’s vehicle.
Consequently, the 70-year-old was arrested for misdemeanour possession of narcotics, however, the comedian is likely to be bailed soon.
Known for stand-up comedy gigs, Rodriguez is also famous for appearing in movies such as Blood Work and The Whoopee Boys, as well as in television series The Golden Girls and The Twilight Zone.
The arrest adds to the rough patch Rodriguez has been having these last few years. The comedian went through quadruple bypass surgery in 2021 and his old friend Donald Serrato also passed away last year.
Rodriguez expressed deep remorse at Serrato’s death and believed that his excessive drinking and smoking, as well as his familial problems, may have contributed to his eventual demise.
Born in Mexico, Rodriguez migrated to California with his family and served in the US Air Force.
