Will Smith is opening up about the major Oscars incident where he slapped Chris Rock in his new album, Based on a True Story.

The incident took place when the comedian made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia.

He reacted to the jab by going up to the stage and hitting Rock, saying, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth!”

The first song on the album, Int. Barbershop — Day begins with a voice saying “Will Smith is canceled” and “I ain’t never going to forgive him for that s*** he did” at another point.

Voices could be heard throughout the song saying, with one line going, “Him and Jada both crazy, girl, what you talkin’ bout?/ You better keep his wife’s name out of your mouth.”

In defence of him, another voice says, “I heard he won the Oscar but he had to give it back/ And you know they only made him do that s*** because he’s Black.”

Although he did not return his award from that year, he has been banned from attending all Academy events for 10 years.

In another song, You Lookin’ for Me? he makes reference to the incident, “Took a lot, I’m back on top/ Y’all gon’ have to get acclimated/ Won’t stop, my s--- still hot/ Even though I won’t get nominated.”
