Author Lauren Tesolin-Mastrosa is currently sparking a wave of controversy.
According to the New South Wales Police, the Australian author was arrested on Friday at her home before being escorted to Riverstone Police Station.
Tesolin-Mastrosa, who writes under the pen name Tori Woods, has been charged with possessing and producing child abuse material.
The arrest comes amid criticism of her new book, titled Daddy’s Little Toy.
The book focuses on a relationship between an 18-year-old girl and her father’s friend. However, the friend took a liking for the girl since she was three years old.
According to The Daily Telegraph Australia, the authorities “received multiple complaints” against Tesolin-Mastrosa. However, the 33-year-old previously denounced criticism of her book, claiming the novel does not “promote” anything inappropriate.
The book’s cover is also under scrutiny as it features children’s building blocks with the title written on them.
People Magazine reports that the designer of the cover, Georgia Stove, insists she was unaware of the contents of the book. Stove also informed the outlet that she has severed ties with the author.
Tesolin-Mastrosa was released on conditional bail and is due to appear in court on March 31.
