Gene Borrello just cannot leave his life of crime behind.
The podcaster, who was a former associate of the Bonanno crime family, was arrested last weekend in Miami, Florida.
According to Miami-Dade County jail records, the arrest took place at 1 AM on Saturday with Borrello facing multiple charges.
The charges include a misdemeanour for stalking and two felony offences: strong-arm robbery and battery.
Borrello could be sentenced to up to 21 years in prison if found guilty of the charges. He also shared an Instagram story on Sunday, revealing he was released on bail.
A video of the arrest was also shared by The Sit Down With Jeff Nadu podcast with a handcuffed Borrello being escorted by the police.
The 40-year-old became a government informant in 2016 before becoming a podcaster.
Borrello is a co-host of the true-crime podcast titled The Johnny & Gene Show, where he shares the platform with ex-mobster John Alite.
This is not the first time Borrello was arrested after becoming an informant. In 2021, he allegedly threatened to kill the husband and father of his ex-girlfriend.
The threats were reportedly due to the ex-girlfriend’s refusal to let Borrello use her pictures in his upcoming book.
