Princess Eugenie kept things low-key for her 35th birthday, celebrating with her family in a quiet but meaningful way.
The royal marked the occasion on Sunday, March 23, by sharing a rare glimpse of her life as a mother, posting a heartfelt photo with her two sons, August and Ernest.
In the sweet outdoor snap, Eugenie beamed at the camera while her little ones sat with their backs turned, enjoying a casual meal at a wooden picnic table.
“Birthday besties…” she captioned the post.
Her “quiet” celebrations also included a simple outing the day before.
According to Hello!, Eugenie and August were spotted at Westfield shopping center, where they stopped by the LEGO store. The princess picked out a mini orchid set for herself — reportedly saying, “This one’s for me, for my birthday” — while August chose a plane set.
While the celebrations were small, they were exactly what was expected. Former royal butler Paul Burrell previously revealed that Eugenie would likely have a quiet birthday.
“I don’t think it’s going to be much of a loud bash… I think it’ll be a very quiet one behind closed doors,” he noted via The Express, adding that there wasn’t much desire for a grand event.
Indeed, Eugenie, who shares her children with husband Jack Brooksbank, has always preferred to keep her personal life private.
