Amanda Seyfried professes why Jennifer’s Body failed

American actress Amanda Seyfried starred in the 2009 horror-comedy Jennifer’s body alongside Megan Fox. Seyfried played the role of Anita “Needy” Lesnicki while Fox played the lead role of Jennifer.

The movie was a commercial failure making only $31.6 million while it was made at the budget of $16 million.

Later the film became a feminist cult classic gaining popularity as a pop-culture staple.

The actress believes the horror-comedy was “a perfect movie” and never succeeded because of its marketing strategy.

“If the critics crticise anything it would be the marketing. The marketing sucked. It just did and we all agree”, said the actress in an interview with GQ.

Previously, Fox, who played Jennifer, had also called it a “mis-marketed” project in 2019.

The Mean Girls had hinted that there is a possibility of the sequel saying “I think we’re making another one.”

The sequel has since been confirmed as Seyfried said, “I’m looking forward to the sequel. They’re working on it.”
