Meghan Markle's With Love, Meghan may have divided critics, but it’s blooming in unexpected ways — literally.

Since the release of her eight-part Netflix lifestyle series, which features everything from curated guest baskets to rainbow platters and aesthetically plated dishes, viewers have been rushing to recreate her culinary style at home.

And one ingredient is stealing the spotlight: edible flowers.

According to Tastewise, a generative AI consumer insights platform, global demand for edible flowers has surged by +27.5 percent compared to last year, making them one of spring’s hottest trending ingredients. Meanwhile, Google searches for edible flowers in food and cocktails have skyrocketed by 300 percent, signalling a floral food frenzy.

Alon Chen, CEO of Tastewise, said: "As edible flowers gain momentum this spring, they’re redefining seasonal flavour trends with a fresh and creative twist, driven by a growing interest in florals like hibiscus, lavender, chamomile, and elderflower.”

Chen added that consumers are not only drawn to the delicate taste of florals but also their stunning visual appeal — something Meghan’s show clearly capitalised on.

What's next for Meghan Markle's Netflix show?

Following the success of season one, Netflix has confirmed that With Love, Meghan will return for a second season, though an official release date has yet to be announced.

Meghan’s new show features her "reimagining the genre of lifestyle programming” along with her celebrity friends as they roll “up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.

The series is part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The eight-part lifestyle series will mark Meghan’s return to her roots, featuring hosting and entertaining tips while welcoming celebrity friends on the show.
