Prince Harry is facing fresh calls to leave the United States, with the Heritage Foundation—the conservative think tank behind his visa lawsuit—accusing him of "hating America."

The Duke of Sussex has been embroiled in a visa row after revealing in his memoir Spare that he had previously used cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms. His admission led the Washington D.C.-based Heritage Foundation to challenge whether he received special treatment when he moved to the U.S. in 2020.

On Tuesday, March 19, heavily redacted court filings were released following a lawsuit to make Harry’s immigration records public. However, the documents provided no new clarity on how he was granted entry into the U.S.

Despite the lack of revelations in the documents, Heritage Foundation lawyer Samuel Dewey has vowed to continue pursuing the case, hinting at a second lawsuit.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Dewey claimed there were discrepancies between the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the State Department files, suggesting the full picture of Harry’s visa status remains unknown.

“If he’d said ‘I used drugs’ or was in on a diplomatic visa, that would be in the DHS files,” Dewey alleged.

“Then you wouldn’t have this situation where the judge says, ‘I don’t have the full story.’”

Dewey also took aim at Harry’s alleged criticism of US President Donald Trump, believed to have been a veiled jab during his speech at the Invictus Games earlier this year, where the Duke spoke about “weak moral character in the world.”

“He’s in a country he clearly hates,” Dewey claimed.

“He’s furious at American voters and attacking them for the result of the 2024 election. Harry should just go home.”

Why is Prince Harry's legal status under scrutiny?

Following his move to the US in 2020, Prince Harry made shocking admissions in his memoir, Spare, revealing that he had used cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.

In response, the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, filed a Freedom of Information Act request to access details about Harry’s US immigration application.

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) initially refused to release the records, leading the organization to take the case to court.

After months of legal battles, Judge Nichols ruled in September 2024 that there was no public interest in disclosing Harry’s visa details.

However, following an appeal, he agreed to release redacted copies of three documents, while keeping a fourth document private.
