The long-anticipated release of Prince Harry’s US visa documents has left one crucial question unanswered. The US government was required to publish the unseen records regarding Harry’s immigration status by March 18, yet key details remain undisclosed.
While the documents have now been made public, several pages were heavily redacted, leaving many wondering about the most controversial aspect of Harry’s application—whether he admitted to past drug use.
As reported by The Sun, the documents did confirm that Harry was not given any special treatment during his application process. However, much of the secret hearing from April 2023 remains blacked out, further fuelling speculation.
Judge Carl Nichols had previously ruled that portions of Harry’s visa records could be released, but the extent of redactions has left more questions than answers.
The official statement from the redacted court documents reads: “Plaintiffs allege that the records should be disclosed as public confidence in the government would suffer or to establish whether the Duke was granted preferential treatment.
This speculation by Plaintiffs does not point to any evidence of government misconduct.”
The controversy began after Prince Harry admitted to past drug use in his 2023 memoir, Spare, where he revealed experimenting with cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms.
Under US immigration laws, past drug use can be grounds for a visa denial, leading to speculation over whether Harry received special treatment.
