David Steven Cohen, who was known for being the head writer for the Cartoon Network series, Courage The Cowardly Dog, has passed away at the age of 58.
Animation historian Jerry Beck reported the news on Facebook and said that the cause of death was cancer.
Although the series was created by John R. Dilworth, Cohen joined in Season 1 and ended up becoming the head writer. He was responsible for some of the eeriest and most well written episodes in Seasons 2, 3 and 4.
His last contribution to the cartoon was the penultimate episode before it ultimately came to an end in 2002.
Some of the most iconic episodes from the writer include "Klub Katz," "1000 Years of Courage," "Forbidden Hat of Gold," and "The Sand Whale Strikes."
His career included writing stints on several other successful shows including Balto, The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss, and Phil of the Future.
Industry professionals as well as fans took to social media to mourn the loss of the beloved writer who brought to life such legendary shows.
