Prince Harry has been urged to maintain professional distance from Meghan Markle as he works to rebuild his public image and career.

According to PR expert Edward Coram James, the Duke of Sussex should focus on establishing himself independently before collaborating with Meghan again, as their joint brand has been “tainted” by past controversies.

Speaking to GB News, James explained why the Sussexes should avoid working together for now: "They are correct to be rebranding as separate entities. Once their individual popularities have increased again, then they can go about reinvigorating their joint brand."

"But, right now, they need to be doing everything they can to professionally distance themselves from the past three years."

James pointed out that many people associate Harry and Meghan with the fallout from their controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, their Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir Spare.

"When you think 'Meghan and Harry,' most will think of the rollercoaster since that terribly ill-advised Oprah interview," he added.

Instead, the expert suggested that they should focus on separate rebranding strategies before teaming up professionally again:

"For now, they must rebrand themselves professionally as 'Meghan' and 'Harry'. When the time is right, they can become 'Meghan and Harry' again."

This advice comes just days after Meghan Markle released her new Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, which features her cooking and entertaining celebrity friends in Montecito. The show is part of the couple’s £80 million Netflix deal, but has received mixed reviews.

As per Netflix, Meghan’s new show features her "reimagining the genre of lifestyle programming” along with her celebrity friends as they roll “up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.

The series is part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The eight-part lifestyle series will mark Meghan’s return to her roots, featuring hosting and entertaining tips while welcoming celebrity friends on the show.
