Actress Scarlett Johansson is determined to stay away from social media.
The 40-year-old actress is one of the few Hollywood celebrities who do not have a public profile on platforms like Instagram and X, formerly Twitter.
Johansson recently revealed that the studio executives requested her to join Instagram to promote her upcoming movie, Jurassic World: Rebirth, but she denied it.
In an interview for InStyle Magazine's latest cover story, the Black Widow star said she has been getting emails from Universal Pictures asking her to consider joining Instagram to publicise her new film.
“I get a lot of pressure to join social media. [It does make me think]… is there a way where I could do this and stay true to who I am? It didn’t feel like I could,” Johansson said.
“The work that I put out there is all based in truth. That’s the key ingredient,” Johansson continued. “So if I was a person who really enjoyed social media, then I could totally get on the bandwagon. But I’m not.”
Johansson also believes her decision not to join Instagram would not affect the box-office performance of Jurassic World: Rebirth, stressing that the “film will do fine.”
Jurassic World: Rebirth is set to release in North America on July 2. The latest movie in the Jurassic franchise stars Johansson as well as Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali.
