As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s multi-million-dollar Netflix deal approaches its expiration this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are gearing up for their latest project, With Love, Meghan, set to premiere on March 4.
According to The Sunday Times, the streaming giant may be looking to maximize its investment in the couple before the deal concludes. Sources suggest Netflix executives feel they haven’t received the exclusivity they originally paid for, as Meghan and Harry have pursued other ventures, including podcasts and independent appearances.
“There’s a feeling that Netflix hasn’t got great value for money [from the Sussexes] because they were buying exclusivity,” a source told the outlet. “But then the couple appeared in other places, like their podcasts, and because their popularity has nosedived. This might be a way to milk some value out of them.”
The report also revealed that insiders at Netflix believe the couple’s partnership with the platform is "on borrowed time." One company source even described the collaboration as a “nightmare.”
Despite skepticism, some believe that With Love, Meghan could turn things around for the Sussexes. A royal insider shared, “As long as Meghan and Harry are selling themselves, people will tune in—whether they’re fans or watching through their fingers.”
The insider added that the couple has faced challenges when trying to step beyond their personal brand. “It’s where they have ventured beyond themselves and tried to say something about the wider world that they have struggled.”
With With Love, Meghan potentially marking their final Netflix project under the current deal, all eyes are on whether it will reignite public interest—or signal the end of their high-profile streaming partnership.
