As the date to the 97th Academy Awards is fast approaching, with the event being live on March 2nd, the host Conan O’Brien answered some questions in a press conference.
The conference involved the creative team for the Oscars with the executive producers, production designer Alana Billingsley, writer Jon Macks and the music producer among others.
O’Brien talked about the people he would be targeting at the Oscars, such as beloved Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Ron Howard.
He joked, “People always think, 'Oh, they're a nice person. What a great guy.' No one has a bad thing to say about him. I'm going to take them both down. I think I don't want to go after the villains that you're used to people going after.”
He continued further, "I don't believe in this whole thing, 'Oh, what an icon, what a nice guy, what a nice woman.' Not going to happen! I go after all the people that are the most beloved and leave anyone who's got any shady past, I'm going to leave them completely alone. No one's going to see that coming."
Eventually, The Tonight Show host switched to a more serious tone when asked about his approach to real world issues.
He acknowledged that he must focus on the current events along with celebrating the film industry, specially since the event pays tribute to the LA wildfires.
