Prince Harry’s US visa controversy is far from over, as new warnings suggest that he could still face consequences despite former US President Donald Trump’s previous remarks on the issue.
According to a Washington insider speaking to the Mail on Sunday, the Duke of Sussex should remain "very worried" about the ongoing investigation into whether he lied on his visa application regarding his past drug use.
"The word in Washington is he should be very worried indeed. There is no love lost between the Sussexes and President Trump," the source claimed.
The controversy stems from a lawsuit filed by the Heritage Foundation against the US Department of Homeland Security, seeking to reveal whether Prince Harry disclosed his past drug use when applying for a US visa.
In his 2023 memoir, Spare, Prince Harry openly admitted to using cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms, raising concerns about whether he was truthful in his visa application.
US visa applications require applicants to disclose drug history, which can lead to rejection if answered dishonestly.
Last year, Judge Carl J. Nichols ruled that Harry’s immigration records should remain private. However, in a recent decision, the judge ordered the US government to review which documents could be made public regarding how the prince was granted entry.
A deadline has now been set for the government to determine which records can be disclosed.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump recently commented on Harry’s visa controversy in an interview with the New York Post.
"I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible," Trump said, taking another swipe at Meghan Markle.
Does Prince Harry have a US visa?
Prince Harry currently holds an A-1 Head of State visa, typically issued to foreign diplomats and government officials. This visa category is subject to lower security and background checks than standard visa applications, raising further questions about whether he received special treatment.
