On Thursday, 10th December Brandon Bernard was scheduled to be executed, he was found guilty for murdering two people when he was just 18. However, Kim Kardashian made countless efforts to make his execution stop. Kim and Bernard had the most tearful phone call minutes before his execution.
The 40-year-old took to her social media and wrote details about her phone call with Brandon as she mourned his execution.
"Just spoke to Brandon for what will likely be the last time. Hardest call I've ever had. Brandon, selfless as always, was focused on his family and making sure they are ok. He told me not to cry because our fight isn't over,” she stated.
"When he told me he's claustrophobic and they offered to give him a shot of Sedative to calm him down before they put him in the chair and he just didn't want to panic, I literally lost it. I had to mute my phone so he wouldn't hear me cry like that. We didn't say goodbye bc we wanted to be hopeful that we would talk again, we said talk to you soon!" Kim added.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star also posted a picture of Brandon, the caption read as “Rest Peacefully Brandon Bernard. It was so great getting to know him. Especially on National Human Rights Day, I hope we all can have a little compassion for the men and women who are locked up, many of whom have spent their time inside learning and growing and changing”.
“Just a quick reminder that sometimes people rehabilitate and reform their lives into being a great person when they make awful choices as children. My fight to save a life from the unjust death penalty never takes away my empathy I have for the victims and their families. Everyone is hurting and no body wins here, I just pray for peace for everyone involved,” she further added.
