Royal expert terms The Crown as 'load of claptrap'

The former press secretary of Queen Dickie Arbiter spoke to True Royalty TV-The Royal Beat and said that what The Crown has shown and claimed about Diana and Prince Charles is completely wrong in fact he said that they were in love.

The royal expert further asserted that the royal couple was genuinely happy. However, The Crown has shown that the couple was doomed ever since they got married.

In the series Prince Charles is shown as someone who is unhappy with his wife, cold, frustrated and emotionally abusive. It also shows that Charles slept with Camilla the night before he got married to Princess of Wales.

“I remember going on tour just after they got married in 1981 and she was the first Princess of Wales in about 80 years, so it was a big deal. There was a relationship from the beginning. There was genuine love and happiness there” Arbiter claimed.

“A written health warning is no good. It has to be a spoken health warning at the beginning to make sure people actually take it in. There has to be a proper warning at the beginning – verbal” he said about the show.

As Arbiter talked about ‘Balmoral Test’ in The Crown he stated “What a load of claptrap. Nobody is put on test. Before anyone goes to Balmoral, they are briefed on what takes place and what clothes to take. Not how to behave, as it's expected that you will use common sense. Margaret Thatcher would have no way gone out in her heels”.

The royal expert further disagreed with show’s portrayal of the Queen who is shown as cold and indifferent.
