Nicki Minaj slams the Grammys for previous 2012 award snub

After Grammy nominations were announced, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter and called out the recording academy for not awarding her eight years ago.

The rapper tweeted “"Never forget the Grammys didn't give me my best new artist award when I had 7 songs simultaneously charting on Billboard & bigger first week than any female rapper in the last decade—went on to inspire a generation. They gave it to the white man Bon Iver. #PinkFriday”.

For the unversed, the reason the 37-year-old artist chose to open up about the snub now is because she was previously forced to keep her mouth shut.
