Barack Obama’s book sets new records one week after launch

Obama's new book A Promised Land was published on 17th November, and after initially selling around 890,000 copies on first day, it has now broken another record with over 1.7 million sales merely in the first week.

Racking up 1.7 million copies in one week alone is equal to the amount of first week sales Obama’s two predecessors sold. 

Moreover, on Tuesday it was revealed that the initial print has been increased from 3.4 million copies to 4.3 million copies. These sales figures include digital and audio books as well.

Even the former first lady Michelle Obama’s book Becoming got published in the year 2017, and up till now has sold around 10 million copies internationally. It also sits in the top 20 on Amazon.

Bill Clinton’s My Life sold 1 million copies during first eight days and George W. Bush’s Decision Points sold 775,000 copies in first week. In total their memoirs now have sold 4 million and 3.5 million copies which Obama’s book is predicted to exceed, easily.
