Frank Turner has indicated that he is consciously withdrawing himself from the endless cycle of recording and touring.
The 44-year-old musician has characterized majority of his career, with the release of his tenth album, Undefeated.
According to ContactMusic.com, he has always been under constant pressure because of deadlines.
The 10th studio record was one of "the best records I have ever made", he recounted.
"I have a luxury right now, which is that I don't need to make another record right now," he said.
Turner has been in a cycle of touring, recording, releasing, but said that in the first time, he has been letting himself take a back seat.
"I don't want to make a record because that's what I do. That doesn't feel very artistic to me," he explained.
He observed that Undefeated was composed in a single outburst-comprised largely in a month hopes that inspiration will be seized in a similar manner again.
Turner has also started to write poetry which is something completely new to him at the encouragement of his partner.
“The act of writing without music in mind… it's so liberating to write words without having to think about the chord changes underneath them," he noted.
Turner will end up on the road with Bowling For Soup on co-headlining tours across Australia and the UK starting in May.
