Cardi B is kicking off her own haircare line, joining musicians like Beyoncé and Rihanna, who established theirs before her.
The Bodak Yellow hit maker has announced her new brand Grow-Good Beauty, and that the products will be available for sale via website on April 14, marking her contribution to the celebrity beauty space.
Amid an appearance on the on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, the host asked the rapper how she feels about entering a saturated market, with celebrities such as Tracee [Ellis Ross] with Pattern Beauty, Beyoncé with Cécred, Rihanna with Fenty as competitors.
"It's not even about competition," Cardi stated, adding that it was about whether or not a product can speak for itself, “It's about what's going to have your hair growing."
The mother-of-four went on to say that she likes Beyoncé’s brand, "It's very f***ing good. I'm saying it with confidence."
Cardi revealed the motivation she had to start her brand, which was being criticised for the way her hair looks as someone who is mixed.
The WAP singer noted that she wanted to empower women of colour and to let them know that they do not have bad hair, just different texture and curl patterns.
