Jamie Lee Curtis had her sights set on being a cop. Acting wasn’t even close to the plan back then.

A black and-white snapshot shared by the star shows her decades ago, pouring coffee on a TV set back when she was just starting out.

That role came during season seven of Columbo, long before awards or red carpets entered the picture.

The Everything Everywhere All At Once stars stands beside it now, face lit differently but eyes still sharp, captured today in color under natural light.

The contrast sits quietly between frames, no explanation needed, "Next year, I will [have] been an actress for 50 years."

"I was never going to be an actor. I thought I'd be a cop," Curtis reflected on her career journey, noting she had no grand plan.

"There was no future tripping. It was just each job, one job at a time, grateful for any opportunity and patience. Lots of f****** patience."

Abruptly stepping back at thirty, the actress shared with AARP to think os "self-retiring."

The veteran star seeing her parents, Hollywood icons Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, saw how harshly treats aging.

Because of what she saw growing up, staying visible never felt necessary, while others chased fame, she chose silence.

Not reacting to pressure became its own kind of power, "Accepting my crepey skin and showing it anyway that's freedom," she said.

"I understand what I look like. I look in the mirror. I get it. And there's no need for me to alter it," she noted.

Right now, Curtis shares the screen with Nicole Kidman in Scarpetta, streaming on Prime Video.
