Laura Dern has recently faced backlash online after she reveals she’s going to star in a new limited series based on the bestselling book, Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story.

Nine-time Emmy Award nominee will play the role of investigative journalist Julie K. Brown in a new show, which will document the downfall of Epstein.

The report of the upcoming limited series came after it was revealed that the Bank of America would pay $72.5 million to victims of Epstein’s sexual abuse.

However, the announcement of Dern starring in the show sparked criticism online as netizens took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the upcoming project.

One wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “I don’t trust Epstein’s friends to make a movie about Epstein.”

“Horrible idea! Let’s not capitalize on victims’ traumas, especially before they get some sort of justice!” another remarked.

A third user commented, “Hollywood handling a Jeffrey Epstein movie is like the Nazi party handling a Hitler biography.”

Someone else stated, “Won’t be accurate.

Another person added, “We need actual prosecution for all the pedophiles and child eaters in those files, not some movie to make light of this sh-t.”

Meanwhile, no further details of the cast or release date have been shared as of yet.
