Sepideh Moafi encountered an industry ultimatum prior to her break through that could provide the high-stakes ER.

The Emmy-nominated Black Bird noted something where many aspiring actors wouldn’t have managed to make a sound.

The Iranian-American star, was being pressured by her first agent to change her birth name to a higher general appeal.

The answer by Moafi was bombastic and instantaneous "f*** no" as she recently told People

The actress did not like the fact as they wanted to strip off her identity just to sell a product, however, she refused to compromise on her heritage.

The bet of authenticity is what propelled her into a decade of the most well-regarded career.

To prove that excellence does not need an alias, Moafi left The Deuce and took charge of the high-concept FBI thriller Class of '09.

She portrays Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi, a medical role in the second season of the successful drama, The Pitt.

She had broken the myth that actors have to fit in order to succeed by making her first few bookings under her own name.

Although she does not judge the people who adopt a stage name, Moafi saw her name inseparable from her journey.

The star established from a refugee camp in Germany to Hollywood stardom, an entirely self-made and beautifully varied career.

“I hope anyone who makes that choice makes it for themselves and not because they feel like they need to change who they are in order to be more universally palatable,” she concluded.
