Ryan Gosling made an unexpected and heartfelt gesture during a recent Los Angeles event, pausing proceedings to publicly advocate for his partner Eva Mendes’ brother.

The moment unfolded at a promotional event for Gosling’s latest film Project Hail Mary, held at the Directors Guild of America.

In a break from typical scripted appearances, the actor stopped the discussion mid-way to draw attention to Carlo Mendez, who was seated in the audience.

According to Daily Mail, addressing a room filled with directors, producers and writers, Gosling asked industry professionals to consider hiring him.

Moreover, he described Mendez as “the hardest-working nonworking actor” he has encountered, urging creatives to cast him in upcoming projects.

The appeal, both personal and spontaneous, drew attention for its sincerity. Gosling went on to encourage filmmakers to include Mendez in their work, emphasizing his dedication and persistence within the industry.

As per the outlet, Mendez, who has appeared in several television roles over the years, has built a steady but low-profile career, with credits in shows such as Parks and Recreation and Dexter: Original Sin.

Gosling’s gesture offered a rare glimpse into his private life and relationship with Mendes, with whom he shares two children.

Furthermore, the couple, known for maintaining a low public profile, have been together since meeting on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2012.
