Brie Larson has voiced her advice to Hollywood: get inspired by the world of gaming.
The Oscar-winning actress who will be remarked as the voice artist of Princess Rosalina in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie shared the reason.
The 36-year-old told on The Screen Podcast that video games can teach the movie industry a lot.
She noted, "There's so much that video games are taking from cinema, and I think it's really time for us in cinema to recognise what we can take from video games."
The Room star pointed out that the massiveness of the gaming community is easily forgotten.
"The gaming community is much bigger than the film and television world, and it's this bizarre thing," she remarked.
Another cultural blind spot that Larson identified is that people usually ask about movies and books, but hardly about video games.
Whereas, "now that I've started talking about it more and reaching out and even talking with video game companies... I'm learning that it's this thing where it's like, people say, 'What movies did you see? What book are you reading?' But not so much do you think to ask, 'What video game are you playing right now?'"
Larson is a self-proclaimed gaming enthusiast who is passionate regarding games in the same way.
Moreover, she disclosed to "threw my first boyfriend out of my house because I was trying to beat the final level in Super Mario Galaxy."
Super Mario Galaxy will hit in theatres April 1.
