Josh Hartnett is back in the spotlight, and he couldn’t be happier.
The 47-year-old actor is finally fulfilling a long-held dream by teaming up with legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone on his new movie, White Lies, Stone’s first narrative feature in a decade.
Speaking to Deadline, Josh admitted the project feels deeply personal.
“Oliver explores a universe in White Lies that feels personal and entirely new material from a filmmaker I have long admired and am excited to work with,” he said.
For Oliver, the film marks a fresh start.
“After nearly 10 years away from features, I feel really like I’m starting again, as when I made Platoon and Salvador in 1986.
White Lies will find its natural home, because it’s an eternal story of love,” he said.
Notably, filming is taking the cast and crew across the globe, from the cobbled streets of Rome to the bustling markets of Bangkok, and the historic scenery of Sofia, Bulgaria.
Producer Fernando Sulichin described the collaboration as “a blessing” and praised both Oliver’s distinctive voice and Josh’s instinctive talent.
It’s been a long road for the Trap actor, who famously stepped back from Hollywood at the height of his fame in the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Speaking to Interview magazine, he revealed that leaving the limelight was all about his “sanity.”
Now based in the UK with his wife Tamsin Egerton, Josh seems perfectly poised to embrace this new chapter.
And with Oliver Stone at the helm, fans have every reason to be excited.
