Emma Slater pushes back on exit rumors: Report

Emma Slater has shot down recent reports suggesting she’s poised to leave the long‑running reality competition series. 

Slater spoke candidly on the Three Questions with Andy Richter podcast about rumors that she might retire from the show after more than a decade as one of its standout pros.

Addressing the talk head‑on, Slater acknowledged that ageism in the entertainment world has fueled speculation around her departure but stressed that she wants her exit, if and when it happens, to be a choice, not a network decision.

“I’d like it to be on my decision,” she told the podcast host, adding that she still has the drive and enthusiasm to perform as long as her body and spirit allow.

According to People, Slater, who has been with the series since 2013 and is one of its most experienced professionals, also hinted at future ambitions beyond the dance floor, including a potential shift into production or creative roles behind the scenes, should the time come.

Reflecting on her career, she emphasized her love for mentoring celebrity partners and her commitment to the show’s community, signaling that, for now, her DWTS chapter “isn’t closing.”
