Zayn Malik drives fans wild with 'Sideways... soon' teaser

Zayn Malik is making headlines after posting an enigmatic video provoking new music. 

The former-One Direction alum took to social media and shared a short video with the caption "Sideways...soon." 

This marked limited information about the video other than the cryptic message along with the teaser.

The short teaser was enough to put fans into a frenzy, as many flocked Instagram to conjecture about what the singer has in mind.

One fan wrote, "OMG, it is amazing, can't wait release," and another fan wrote, "CAN Friday come sooner I CANT WAIT For this song."

Notably, one fan even labelled the footage track as “SONG OF THE YEAR.”

It is a preview of the next album by Malik, Konnakol, which is due out April 17, and described as a pop-forward culturally-minded project.

This is based on his own heritage and follows up on his lead single, Die For Me, released in February.

To promote the album, Malik will sell limited edition wristbands by pre-ordering the CD or vinyl by hosting a meet-and-greet April 22 at Newbury Comics in Boston.

He will play a live set in-store the next day at the Sound Garden in Baltimore.

As of now, there is no official confirmation to whether or not "Sideways" is a new single or a song on the new album.
