Maya Hawke describes Taylor Swift as an ‘undeniable influence’

Maya Hawke has recently admitted she’s inspired by Taylor Swift and her music.

The Stranger Things star revealed that the Cruel Summer crooner has an “undeniable influence” on her at a time when she was afraid to get into songwriting.

Maya noted that Taylor has not only inspired her as a musician but all those young singers of new generation to be serious about music.

“I think she inspired a generation. She made a generation of young people listen to music and think, ‘Oh, wow, my life could matter. My feelings could matter. The details of it could matter,’” explained the Wishful Thinking actress, which received critical praise at SXSW.

Maya went on saying, “Of course it’s a Blakean thing, the minute particulars — the more specific you make something, the more relatable it actually is.”

However, the actress, who is set to star in Netflix series The God of the Woods, mentioned, “I was hugely influenced by Taylor.”

“I’ve been listening to her music my entire life. You could start any song from any word and I would be able to know where you were and finish it, probably,” she added.

Meanwhile, Maya is currently busy filming the new Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which will release next year.
