Vince Gill has been a longtime supporter of Taylor Swift, and the country music singer has just endorsed her for a major honour.
The Go Rest High on That Mountain once performed alongside the 14-time Grammy winner, and now he is putting her name out there to be inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Reflecting on the time he received the honour in 2007, during an episode of Rolling Stone‘s podcast Nashville Now, he talked about how it felt to be the second-youngest person joining the list at the time.
“I was grateful. There was a part of me that kind of thought, ‘A little early,’ honestly. What I wanted to do after the fact was earn it,” Vince stated of the induction that came when he was 50.
He then dished that he believes Taylor will become a future hall of famer, “I think they’ll put her in there. Why wouldn’t you? I’m crazy about her. I fully support that,” the 68-year-old said revealing that she is one of the biggest donors of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The High Infidelity singer could be eligible for the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Modern Era category this year, since the category requires over two decades since national prominence and her debut self-titled album was released in 2006.
