Spider-Man: Brand New Day marketing is in full swing with lead actors and real life couple, Tom Holland and Zendaya.

However, a latest move by the Marvel movie was called out for seemingly copying Timothee Chalamet.

The 29-year-old actor climbed up the Empire State Building which lit in red and blue to “celebrate the launch of the new Spider-Man trailer.”

Although fans gushed about the impressive stunt, others were instantly reminded of something similar done by Timothee to promote Marty Supreme.

One of the X users was of the opinion that “the Chalamet effect in marketing” is apparent, noting: “I wanna see who is going to say ‘they are doing too much.’”

Another netizen highlighted: “Chalamet did it first,” referring to his move of climbing up the Las Vegas Sphere in December 2025.

While the 30-year-old went to lengths to spread the word, he faced severe criticism for putting in too much efforts to make it work.

The new addition to the Marvel universe is scheduled to hit the theatres on July 31, 2026.

Is Zendaya married to Tom Holland?

This came after The Odyssey star sparked marriage rumours with his co-host and fiancée Zendaya as her stylist claimed the nuptials have already taken place.

The Euphoria star later appeared on a talk show and poked fun at fake, AI-generated pictures from their wedding circulating online.
