Jane Fonda, who was “in love” with the late actor, Robert Redford, shared her dissatisfaction over the Oscars’ way of paying tribute to the star.

The Horse Whisperer hero died at the age of 89 on September 16, 2025, leaving his lovers and fans devastated.

Now, speaking at the Vanity Fair after-party with Entertainment Tonight, why the artist that had an Oscar-winning career was paid tribute with a musical, The Way We Were by Barbra Streisand.

She stated, “I want to know how come Streisand was up there doing that for Redford. She only made one movie with him, I made four!”

She also added, “[He was] the most gorgeous human being and had such great values. He did a lot for movies – he lifted up independent movies.”

It is to be noted that the activist was not happy for another reason, and that was that she was close to the director and thought she was the one who deserved it.

She also embarked her journey with Robert as they both did four movies together, making an impact throughout their careers.

For the unversed, after the death of the star, Jane revealed that she “cried all morning” after hearing he news.
