Anne Hathaway brought The Devil Wears Prada energy to Oscars with Anna Wintour.
Ahead of the highly anticipated film premiere soon, the film's star made an appearance at the 2026 Oscars to present Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, alongside Vogue editor.
Wintour is widely considered as an inspiration for Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway magazine in the film, played by Meryl Streep.
While delivering her monologue about power of costume design in storytelling, Hathaway explained that everything from simple two jewel-tone hats or a meticulously crafted headdress to something simple as semi-rimless glasses can shape a character.
Feigning nervousness besides Wintour, the Princess Diary star added, that elaborated deigns can even evoke entire worlds bringing life to gothic classic or watching red turn rust in 16th century England.
Following that she went on to ask Wintour about her styling for the night.
As Wintour looked away from the Oscar winner and put on her shades, Hathaway bravely asked, "Anna, just curious, what do you think of my dress tonight?"
To which the Vogue editor hilariously ignored her and added, "And the nominees are."
Giving a nod to the film’s character Miranda Priestly, she also told Hathaway, "Thank you, Emily."
Frankenstein won the category up against Avatar: Fire and Ash, Hamnet, Marty Supreme and Sinners.
