Pop superstar Mariah Carey may have only just dropped her latest album, but the music icon is already back in the studio, and she couldn’t be more excited about what’s coming next.

The 56-year-old diva released Here For It All in September 2025, yet she’s wasting no time getting creative again.

Speaking in a recent interview, Mariah revealed she is currently recording fresh tracks and is buzzing about the new material.

“I’m definitely recording new music and I’m very excited about it,” she shared.

“I’m kind of always recording new music, but I hope it will do well and people will like it.”

However, when asked whether the sessions mean a brand-new album is on the way, the songstress teased fans with a laugh.

“When I say that, people get upset with me,” she joked, leaving Lambs everywhere guessing.

All I Want for Christmas Is You hitmaker also confirmed she still plans to release the long-rumoured version of Someone’s Ugly Daughter, the mysterious grunge project she recorded years ago.

While fans have been desperate to hear the version featuring her own lead vocals, the singer admitted the timing is still uncertain.

“I want to have this happen, but I just literally have to wait a minute and put it out,” she said.

“I’m going to do it. It’s just… a whole thing.”

Elsewhere, the We Belong Together hitmaker hinted at big plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her much-maligned 2001 film Glitter and its soundtrack.

Although the movie famously bombed at the box office, the album later gained a loyal cult following, thanks in part to the viral “Justice for Glitter” fan campaign.

Now, Mariah says a deluxe reissue could finally be on the cards.

And while she once hated the project, time has changed her perspective.
