Kerry Washington opens up that she’s a big fan of Heated Rivalry, so much so that she did unbelievable purchase.
Speaking to Variety at the premiere of her new Apple TV series, Imperfect Women at the Academy Museum, the American actress reveals that she just “bought one of those candles on Instagram – an I am coming to the cottage,” inspired by Heated Rivalry show.
“I’m obsessed with the show,” admits the 49-year-old.
Kerry describes the “queer hockey drama series” as “one of the greatest television shows in the most recent decades”.
It was first informed by the actress’ husband, former NFL star and now actor-producer Nnamdi Asomugha, who told the outlet that his wife is a big fan of the show.
At the red carpet, the nine-time Emmy nominee reflects, “What’s not to love about the show… It’s about belonging. It’s a show about acceptance. It’s a show about finding love, accepting love and having the courage to love. It’s also very spicy.”
While discussing episode three of the show, Kerry points out that there are so many shows that “try to do that kind of flashback bottle episode, but I was like, ‘All of you go home and watch this. This is great television’”.
“At the end, I was literally screaming at the television,” she adds.
Meanwhile, Heated Rivalry creator announced about season two of the show, which will feature Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie reprising their starring roles as Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov.
Details of the show has not been disclosed but filming is likely to begin this summer.
