Martin Short is depending on his nearest friends as he struggles to come out with an inexplicable loss.

The daughter of the star of the Only Murders in the Building, Katherine Hartley Short, was found dead on Monday.

This occured in her Los Angeles residence at the age of 42 years. The LAPD proved that she died of a self-inflicted bullet wound.

One of the confidant close to the family informed the Radar Online that the comedian is utterly devastated.

"Martin adored Katherine. The sun rose and set with her, so naturally, he's in turmoil right now and finding it almost impossible to process," they disclosed. 

The veteran star was aware that she was mentally going through a rough period, However, he did not to this level.

The source continued, "It's just shocking and unfathomable to him on every level and has taken a wrecking ball to his whole world."

The 75-year-old actor has been mobilized by Hollywood A-list. Steven Spielberg, Kurt Russell and Eugene Levy have been seen visiting the house of his son to console him. 

Meryl Streep and Steve Martin are equally helping in this disastrous period. "Even Meryl is having a hard time getting through to Martin right now, and suffice to say, she's very concerned,"

The death statement issued by the family of Short said that Katherine would be remembered as bringing light and joy to the world.
