Eminem, renowned American rapper and songwriter has lost another family member.

The maternal grandmother of the rapper, Betty Kresin, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, in her Missouri homestead.

According to TMZ, the veteran author was succumbed by breast cancer at the age of 87.

The 53-year-old artist was unavailable as she passed away after the long battle.

This comes after almost one and one-half years, the mother of Eminem, Debbie Nelson died of lung cancer in December 2024.

The bond between the grandmother and the grandson was infamously bad, Kresin came out in 2000 in an interview with the Mirror in London stating how heart broken she was over their estranged relationship.

"Neither his mother Debbie nor I can figure out what happened to this sweet, caring youngster," she marked.

She recounted, "In just over 12 years he's gone from telling me 'Grandma I love you,' to 'Go to hell.' It just breaks my heart".

The public commentator said, "When I hear his vile disgusting lyrics I can't believe this is my Marshall, the same boy who used to come and sit on my lap".

She criticized him, however, was also defensive over media attack. "He's no worse than the rest of them. I don't like some of the lyrics myself, but this is what the people want to hear."

She went on to explain, "They seem to be singling my grandson out. They're picking on him" .

The demise comes as Eminem is taking over a new role in the family. Last year his daughter Hailie Jade had son Elliot Marshall McClintock who she named so in honour of the rapper.

It is pertinent to mention that Eminem has not made any statement regarding the death of his grandmother.
