Dree Hemingway had hoped Daryl Hannah would realize that she had come in peace-but the same could not be said on her part.
The 38-year-old actress in an interview with Nylon on March 4, said she had written a letter to the 65-year-old star prior to portraying her younger version in the Ryan Murphy FX series Love Story.
The series fictionalizes the off-and-on relationship between Hannah and John F. Kennedy Jr, the deceased, before he gets married to Carolyn Bessette.
It was actually little more than a love note to her, telling her of how much she liked her as an actor and a woman before even she was cast to play Daryl, Hemingway punched.
She pointed out that the letter was not an invitation to establishment of a relationship.
Moreover, she added, "It was really an honour of my lifetime to be able to portray you and research you."
Hemingway acknowledged that she was kept away by nerves to have a conversation. "I also didn't want to intrude in any way. I didn't want to make her feel awkward."
Hannah had not replied at the time, to which she addressed, "I also think [she needs] her own time. The show's just come out; I'm sure there's a lot to digest."
Hannah, who plays the character Daryl Hannah in the series, denied any cocaine use, pressuring Kennedy into marriage, or desecrating family heirlooms, as illustrated.
Furthermore, she marked it as, "the character 'Daryl Hannah' portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct or my relationship with John."
Hannah marked that, “Real names are not fictional tools. They belong to real lives.”
Love Story is currently available in Hulu.
