Jess Wright has issued a public apology following a wave of criticism over remarks she made about women who wear thong bikinis during a recent episode of the family podcast Wright at Home, which she hosts with her mother Carol and sister Natalya.

The former The Only Way Is Essex star’s comments, in which she described the revealing swimwear as “gross,” sparked widespread backlash online, prompting Wright to address the controversy directly.

In her apology, Wright acknowledged that her choice of words and tone were inappropriate and hurtful to listeners, and took full responsibility for the backlash.

According to Daily Mail, she emphasized that her intention was never to demean or shame women for their fashion choices, and stressed the importance of respecting individual autonomy over personal style.

Wright also said the experience had been a learning moment for her and her co‑hosts, and committed to being more thoughtful and considerate in future discussions on the podcast.

The controversial comments, made alongside Carol and Natalya, drew strong reactions on social media, with many accusing the trio of promoting outdated views tied to the “male gaze” rather than celebrating women’s choice and confidence.

Moreover, critics said such remarks reinforced negative stereotypes about women’s bodies and clothing choices.

Wright’s apology comes amid ongoing commentary over her media presence and public statements, and she stressed that she remains committed to accountability and positive dialogue with her audience.
