Harry Styles has revealed how life in the spotlight taught him an important lesson.
The 32-year-old pop superstar admitted he had to learn how to “be more private” after stepping away from his boyband days with One Direction and launching his hugely successful solo career.
Speaking on the Q with Tom Power podcast, Harry reflected on how early fame encouraged him and his bandmates to open up nearly every part of their lives to fans.
The Night Changes singer, who shot to global fame at just 16 alongside Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik, said the experience helped him realise what he was truly comfortable sharing.
“When we were in the band, we were kind of encouraged to give a lot of ourselves away,” Harry explained.
“When I started working on my own music, I began figuring out what parts of my life I wanted to keep private.”
The chart-topping star said stepping out alone allowed him to reassess the boundaries of fame and reclaim some personal space after years under intense public scrutiny.
But the pressures of celebrity didn’t disappear overnight.
In a recent chat with Runner’s World, As It Was hitmaker admitted that fame sometimes left him feeling isolated and running became his escape.
After finishing his massive 173-date Love On Tour in 2023, the singer took time away from music to travel, catch up with friends and family, and even enjoy major events like a normal fan.
“It’s just you, alone, moving through the world,” he said, describing the long solo runs that helped him process the noise of global fame.
Now back on stage after several years away, Harry recently performed in Manchester to mark the release of his fourth album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally.
What Makes You Beautiful singer is preparing to hit the road again with his upcoming Together Together tour, bringing dozens of shows to cities including London, Amsterdam and New York.
