The nine-year-old daughter of James Van Der Beek Emilia is fearlessly disclosing her heart aches.
The tweenager, in an emotional Instagram video posted March 8 shared some little tips on coping with grief.
The Dawson's Creek actor died in February after a three-year battle with stage three colorectal cancer.
"So today is my dad's birthday", Emilia started to say, adding, "the number one thing for somebody's passing is to talk to them and let your emotions out."
Emilia revealed that she talks to him everyday, beginning with, "Hi, Dad. I miss you, and I love you so much, and I'll never stop loving you."
Emilia is relieved to know that he is in a good place and not in pain anymore.
Moreover, she noted her father's advise that it is best not to give up on believing in miracles even when the worst occurs.
"Just cry. Cry, cry, cry," she encouraged. Happy they are well off and sad as you miss them.
"You can be angry, but don't blame yourself. Blaming yourself is not a good strategy for someone's passing."
She concluded by giving thanks to donors of the GoFundMe of her mom Kimberly which raised more than 2 million dollars for the family of the seven children.
Kimberly, 44, celebrated the day on Instagram as well, she penned with a carousel of family moments, "Would be your 49th birthday today. And I'm missing you tremendously."
