In a now-viral video, the pop icon was seen walking with her security when fans came to her and asked for autographs and selfie.
Instead of smiling and greeting them, the like Jennie singer asked: “Can I please have my day?” and proceeded to reveal that “it’s gonna be very stressful for me.”
The clip circulated on the internet with some supporting her while others calling her rude for not being in high spirits while meeting her fans.
One of the X user was of the opinion that a celebrity “should be able to deal with crowds and cameras.”
Although a netizen noted that the musician “wants to be famous and then complains about the consequences,” admirers jumped in to defend her.
A fan shared that a human being “can request space and privacy” irrespective of their line of work.
There have been several instances where celebrities were labelled rude for asking privacy from paparazzi and fans.
Meanwhile, her band mate Lisa faced an incident after a CCTV footage of her shopping was released for promotion without consent.
