The mission of Peter Sutherland is not complete yet.

The Night Agent has been a success on Netflix, and the streamer has officially renewed the series to a fourth season.

The announcement came several weeks after the release of season three on February 19.

The season three is now at the second position on the list of Netflix, which is preceded only by the Bridgerton season four.

The comeback has also shot seasons one and two to the weekly top 10, making it the 10th-most-watched English-language television series in Netflix's "All Time" rankings.

News of the fourth season was celebrated by creator Shawn Ryan, who has been actively developing a fourth season since the show was waiting to be green-lighted.

Ryan marked that this far it has been a "wild ride" shooting in five countries in three continents.

"Our writers, our cast and our crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns and thrills."

Season four will be filmed in Los Angeles as opposed to season three, which was shot in New York City and Istanbul.

The series follows the life of Peter Sutherland, played by Gabriel Basso, a low-ranking FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of a huge conspiracy.

The synopsis of season three is a hint at a Treasury Agent who is on the run, a dark network, and people who are trying to kill Peter.

The executive producers of the series are Shawn Ryan, Seth Gordon, James Vanderbilt and others, it is produced by Sony pictures television.
