Harry Styles opened up the significance of his song title, Carla’s Song.
The Grammy winner, who is known for having tracks named and inspired after people he have in his life.
Carrying the tradition, in his new album Kiss Me All the Time. Disco, Occasionally Carla’s Song has sparked curiosity among fans on who is it about.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Styles while discussing Carla revealed that she is a friend of mine.
"We were waiting to go to this after party, and she'd kind of mentioned in the room that she'd just discovered Paul Simon," she said.
The As It Was singer recalled the moment when he watched a Carla falling in love with Paul Simon music.
He said, "She was kind of asking everyone, like, 'oh, have you heard Paul Simon?' We were like, 'Yeah, he's amazing. So I was kind of like, 'Oh, you've never heard Simon Garfunkel.'"
In Carla's Song, Styles sings about the transformational power of music.
Hence he played to her Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and watched her listen to it. He said that watching someone listen to a song for the first time is like “watching someone discover magic.”
Styles' album, Kiss all the Time, Dance Occasionally is now released to stream.
