Christian Bale Compares his Bride! monster character to the viral baby monkey, Punch.
The Batman Begins star returns with a monstrous new role alongside a surprisingly cute inspiration.
In an interview with the Oscar winner published recently, the actor portraying the creature of Frankenstein in the forthcoming film The Bride! disclosed some interesting facts.
His creature has DNA similarities with Punch, the viral baby monkey who gained the affection of the internet.
“[The monster] needs to have a companion, even if it’s someone that sits on the log next to him and never speaks,” the 52-year-old marked.
The American Psycho went on to explain, “Like little Punch with the orangutan. Little Punch, you can do it! That’s all he needs.”
For the unversed, Punch is a Japanese baby macaque who became viral due to his desperate clung to a stuffed orangutan.
The baby macaque from Japan’s Ichikawa City Zoo, was presented the comfort toy when his mother left him.
Fans are losing it, “ILY his mind,” one wrote in the comment section. “Not the Punch ref," said another. Another netizen added, “HAHAHA he knows about Punch—I love him.”
The Bride! directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, opens in theatres on March 6, starring Bale, Jessie Buckley and Penelope Cruz.
